Amber Alert For Missing Fetus.

Wow. Just horrific (h/t Drudge):

SKIDMORE, Mo. -- A 23-year-old woman who was eight months pregnant was killed Thursday and the fetus was taken from her body, authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies were investigating the afternoon killing of the woman and they were searching for the baby, who they believed could have survived.

Nodaway County Sheriff Bill Espey said, "Someone was wanting a baby
awful bad."

The sheriff issued an Amber Alert for the missing fetus. Police are searching for an 8-month-old white, female fetus. It also suggested that things to look for in the case included "bloody clothing or towels, possible health issues with the fetus and a freshly cut umbilical cord."
Mmm. . . freshly cut umbilical cord. . .

Now, here's where I get all crazy on the vernacular. Isn't a fetus that's no longer in the womb now, well, *a baby*? Sounds like the Sheriff's office is a little too technical with their terminology.

When they catch this killer, I hope they gut them just the same, maybe remove their colon. Then we can all enjoy an Amber Alert searching for their large intestine. It'll be fun; we'll make a day of it.

Comments:
Frighteningly enough, this is not the first time I've heard of something like this. I'm a little hazy on the details, but I think a Chicago governor commuted the death sentences of a whole bunch of people right before leaving office, and two of the people whose sentences were commuted had done basically the same thing.

Thanks, liberal America, for saving those two worthless lives.

Yeah, the Illinois governor was a jerk for pardoning everyone on Death Row. I can't even imagine what went through his mind that he thought that was a good idea, though I understand Saddam did the same thing so maybe someone could ask him for me before the Baghdad Beard dances the hemp fandango.

My big question is what exactly qualifies for a "Red Alert" in Nodaway County? Since murdering a woman and cutting out her baby for reasons unknown doesn't make the cut, I wonder where the bar is actually set.
